Take a Cocktail Cruise This June

There are multiple ways to cruise in and around Louisville, as you probably know. But have you ever been on a cocktail cruise? Enjoy the urban bourbon trail this June the best way, by just riding along on the Mix and Muddled Cocktail Cruise!

Bourbon Cruise

Enjoy a Mix and Muddled Cocktail Cruise this June and taste bourbon all around Louisville. You will cruise along in an open-air vehicle that is driven by someone sober. Safety! You'll go to various stops to taste different bourbon at each. Some of the places you will visit will have over 100 different bourbons to offer. The tour is three hours so you won't have time to try all of these, but you can sip a couple of interesting options.

Mix and Muddled Cocktail Cruise

The tour will take you past some of the distillers but you'll only stop at pubs and bars where you can try bourbon. You'll go to neighborhoods like Butchertown and Phoenix Hill, areas known for their craft beer.

The cocktail cruise is open most days in June. Go cruising any day but Mondays and Tuesdays. Go online to books your time. The tour begins at 210 W. Liberty Street. That's just a few blocks outside of Old Louisville, a neighborhood that has a long association with the bourbon industry.

Drink in the Scenery in Old Louisville

After you cruise around sipping bourbon, going for a walk around Old Louisville is a pretty great idea. Get some fresh air and get a look at some of the city's prettiest real estate at the same time. Old Louisville was built during the Victorian Era and it shows. The homes here are tall and stately. There are a lot of columns, long windows, round rooms and all those other features you look for in 1800s design.

Many of Louisville’s early wealthy residents built homes here to be near the city. Big bourbon distillers, horseracing professionals, tobacco farmers and early industrialists in the city hit it big and built their homes to be impressive from every angle. The houses here are full of hand-carved woodwork, marble accents, colorful mosaic patterns, stonework and all sorts of over-the-top, embellished details.

This is a well-loved part of the city and the houses here have been preserved and renovated as needed over the years to keep the historic details intact and still keep the real estate up to date for the modern era.

Every home here is distinct and every home here had its own cool history. Will your story be the next chapter for one of these elegant homes?
