Take a StoryWalk November 22 - 26
The forest always feels like a bit of a magical place. That's probably why there are so many fairy tales about forests. During StoryWalk at Beckley Creek Park, the magic of the forest will really come to life. This is a fun way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the natural beauty of the forest.
StoryWalk
You don't need a guide and you don't have to participate in a large group to enjoy StoryWalk. Feel free to stop by any time from 8 am to 7 pm. You will follow the signs to read the story and you'll learn about nature along the way. There are suggested activities, too, so you can truly get to know more about the forest. This makes the story interactive and really helps you connect with nature. In today's tech-driven world, that's not always so easy to do.
You'll be at Beckley Creek Park, which is part of the large and pretty Parklands area. This is a large area of interconnected parks full of trails and waterways and amenities. Beckley Creek Park is at 1411 Beckley Creek Parkway. That's just a short distance away from Shakes Run.
Running Around in Shakes Run
If you get a look at it, you'll learn that this neighborhood isn't very well-named. You don't want to run through Shakes Run. This is the type of neighborhood you have to slow down in, the type of place you want to enjoy. You have to slow down to get a better look at the pretty homes here. They're arranged on a lot of cul-de-sacs around a pretty clubhouse. The actual Shakes Run creek winds along next to the neighborhood.
It's a pretty background for the newer homes here. They're made in siding and brick and the best in traditional design. Each home has its own look but they all work together to give Shakes Run a great design overall. Most homes here have three to four bedrooms and two or more baths. They have attached garages and big rooms. Built-in shelves, fireplaces, kitchen islands, you can expect to find all sorts of great features in the homes here.
Run over to this neighborhood and get a look at Shakes Run. This neighborhood might end up playing a big role in your story.
