An Insider’s Look at Old Louisville

Old Louisville is most famous for its Victorian architecture. Most of the homes here are built in this grand style with custom stonework and hand-wrought ironwork. Some homes here have mosaic tile decorations and many of the homes here have gorgeous landscaping to provide a beautiful setting for the architecture that's so jaw-dropping.

The houses in Old Louisville have the classic looks and all the features you associate with Victorian architecture. The houses are tall and ornate with grand entrances, lots of windows and little details everywhere. If you go inside the homes here, you'll see even more details and even more embellishments from the Victorian era. The houses here have fireplaces, hardwood floors, marble mantles, hand-carved woodwork, chandeliers, sweeping staircases and the list goes on and on.

The architecture and gorgeous Victorian details here have been preserved over the years, but the older infrastructure hasn't. Old Louisville homes have all the features that modern homes have, including newer plumbing and lighting systems. Old Louisville real estate truly offers the best of everything Because while this neighborhood is quiet and within blocks of the large Central Park at the heart of the community, downtown Louisville is within walking distance. People who live here have access to the best of quiet living among the shade trees and access to the best culture, cuisine and shopping you can find anywhere.

Spend some time walking around here and soon, you're going to want to spend every day in Old Louisville.
