Take Your Teen to a Digital Defense Workshop at iHub June 9
The world has gone digital, and cybersecurity is one of the fastest-growing career fields. There are jobs in both the public and private sector for computer-savvy individuals who know more about digital defense. So this June, take your teen to the Digital Defense Weekend Workshop, and introduce them to this highly lucrative career field.
Ethical Hacking Workshop
The Digital Defense class is an ethical hacking workshop that will give teens hands-on experience and training exercises in encryption, cracking passwords and defending digital systems.
Legal guardians and parents will be required to sign a letter of authorization for teens to attend this workshop, which will teach them how to use hacking techniques for good. Lunch is provided for both days of the workshop, and teens are invited to bring their own snacks.
There is no age limit for this workshop, though it is ideally designed for children aged 14 to 18. Parents are welcome to stay if they like, so they can see exactly what their kids are learning, but it's not necessary.
The workshop will be held at iHub at 204 South Floyd Street in downtown Louisville, and costs $200 per student. The workshop lasts from 8:30 am to 4 pm both days. This location is just a few blocks away from the riverfront and right outside Phoenix Hill, a lively neighborhood that's perfect for young professionals and go-getters of all ages.
Find Your Way to Phoenix Hill
Phoenix Hill has several claims to fame, including where you can find the University of Louisville Hospital. Local and even national acts come here to perform live music. This neighborhood has a thriving medical district. Phoenix Hill is also known for its arts district. The neighborhood is full of parks, places to eat and local businesses.
One of the most impressive features of Phoenix Hill is the real estate. In fact, the homes are so impressive here that many areas of Phoenix Hill are included on the National Historic District. This neighborhood is best-known for its charming bungalows and shotgun homes. They're built with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, and many of them are detailed with eye-catching extras, like front doors and trim painted in bold color shades.
The pretty historic architecture here harkens back to the early 1900s on the outside, but on the inside the homes here are quite modern. The homes here have been updated and renovated over the years to have all those modern touches that today's real estate owners really want. Once you start to look around at everything Phoenix Hill has to offer, you'll probably really want to live here, too.
