Taste Craft Beer This February
Kentucky is pretty famous for its bourbon. There’s an entire bourbon region where world-famous distilleries create the drink that is celebrated around the globe. But Louisville itself has a pretty strong craft beer scene. This February, take the time to explore the Germantown Beer Walk and go see some of the city’s craft breweries firsthand.
Germantown Beer Walk
Taste your way around the craft beer scene with the Germantown Beer Walk. This is a little tour of craft breweries that will take you all over the Germantown neighborhood, which is a colorful part of the city with a long and interesting history. You’ll get the chance to visit multiple breweries where you will get something to taste at each.
You will walk a short distance between each brewery and get a good look at the interesting Germantown neighborhood along the way. The walk takes about two hours because you will be stopping for a bit at each brewery. This is not a hike. It’s a casual stroll that would be safe and easy for kids. Of course, you have to leave the kids at home. This event is for those who are 21 and over!
The tour starts at 930 Mary Street. You’ll park here, walk around Germantown and re-join your car at the end. But before you leave this neighborhood, take a look around at the rest of Germantown, too. To really get a picture, you’ll have to see the lovely homes here.
A Taste of Germantown
Germantown is a historic neighborhood and over the years, it has developed its own identity. This is definitely a place to go if you want to try craft beer. You can also find authentic German food here. You will find coffee shops and a little parks here, schools and shopping. There's a medical center nearby, an actual butterfly farm, even a popular street market. Germantown is close to both downtown Louisville and the Highlands, so there is a trendy flair here.
But there is also tradition. You will find that in the architecture here, the beautiful homes that still fill the streets of Germantown. Made mostly in siding and made in unique designs that stand out, the homes in Germantown have historic style and modern fair. But inside? This is where you will see the latest and greatest in modern home designs, cool tech and other features that today's homeowners want. You get the best of the classic and the new, the traditional and the modern, the historic and the right now.
In other words, you can get the best of everything in Germantown. Go see this neighborhood for yourself this February and see what Germantown might have in store for you.
