The 9th Annual Ken-Ducky Derby Event in Louisville on September 22nd
This Saturday, September 22nd is the annual Harbor House Ken-Ducky Derby Festival at the Waterfront Park near Joe's Crab Shack. This is a free, family-friendly festival that starts at noon and ends at 5pm. Those that attend will find plenty of excitement with live music, a food court, health fair, and inflatables for the little ones, along with plenty of arts and craft booths.
Families are encouraged to come enjoy the music, food and fun at the Ken-Ducky Derby Festival, but those wishing to participate in the actual event are welcome to do so. Rubber ducks for the race can be purchased for $5 and precautions have been taken to preserve the environment. The post time is 3pm sharp and winners will be announced at 3:30pm.
The annual Ken-Ducky Derby is a celebrated event that benefits Louisville’s Harbor House, a not for profit organization that provides certified training and development for handicapped and disabled individuals and their families. The Harbor House was created in 1992 by the parents of eleven children who had mental retardation, brain injuries or developmental disabilities to ensure their children a safe and supportive environment and the benefits of a regular job.
The September 22nd Ken-Ducky Derby is packed full of fun with all proceeds benefiting Louisville's disabled and handicapped community members. Festival goers will enjoy a full day of entertaining activities, plus opportunities to win a variety of prizes including the grand prize - a 2012 Honda Civic, one year of free gas from Kroger and oil changes. Bring out the family and get quacking at the Ken-Ducky Derby at Waterfront Park this weekend.
