The Essential Elijah Pierce at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft Starting February 1st
The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is proudly opening “The Essential Elijah Pierce” exhibit on Saturday, February 1st. These amazing works will be on display until Sunday, March 16th during the regular museum hours of Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at 715 West Main Street in Louisville. The exhibition is free for members and children ages 5 and under. Adults who are not members pay $8, children ages 6 through 12 pay $2, children ages 13 through 17 and college students with ID pay $4, and seniors, military personal and groups of 10 or more pay $5 each.
This renowned Ohio woodcarver and folk artist Elijah Pierce is known for his narrative carvings. Some of his tree born art has been regarded as the most amazing works of personal, whimsical and spiritual art ever produced by an American folk artist. This exhibition was initially created by the Columbus Museum of Art in Ohio and has been shared with like-minded galleries across the nation.
The Essential Elijah Pierce exhibit at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft on 715 W. Main Street is a must-see for folk art enthusiasts.
