The Forecastle Festival's 10-Year Anniversary
It is time for the music celebration of the year! Louisville Waterfront Park will be hosting the Forecastle Festival from Friday July 13th till Sunday the 15th. Music will be cranked out on five different stages, with one act after another for this three day festival of music, family, friends, food and fun. Not to mention, this year’s event is Forecastle’s 10-year anniversary - what an amazing journey!
This is a fun family event that introduces not only live music, but also is themed as “In a sea of change”. At the annual Forecastle Festival, the world gathers to experience the best in music, art, environmentalism and activism. A crowd of green-minded individuals gather in a celebration of sights, sounds, sustainability and green living.
The Forecastle Festival is known to draw travelers from the North, South, East, and West. This is an unusual type of music event as it merges entertainment with education to inspire the young and old alike to take a voyage of personal growth and global change.
Pack a few blankets, some lawn chairs, and whatever else you need to be comfortable and head down to Waterfront Park. This year My Morning Jacket, Mike Doughty, Rachel Grimes, Wax Fang, Justin Townes Earl, Clutch and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band will be among the 60+ bands passionately performing for festival goers. If you appreciate a variety of music in the pleasant atmosphere of a river setting under the sun and stars, you won’t want to miss the Forecastle Festival.
