The Story of Swan Lake

The story of Swan Lake is one that has been mesmerizing audiences for more than a century. The ballet, composed in 1875 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, surrounds a Princess named Odette who is transformed into a swan by a wicked sorcerer who casts an awful spell on her. The excitement is in the fact that she only turns into a swan at midnight, every night. This is a story of romance, making it the perfect date night ballet performance. Princess Odette wants so very much to be with her true love, but she is challenged by her inability to remain human for an entire 24-hour period. The Ballet is beautifully composed and danced with strength by the Louisville Ballet.
