The Taste of the Highlands Event February 28
Go to Restaurant Row in the Highlands to celebrate Mardi Gras the best way: by eating at the Taste of the Highlands event. A bunch of local Highlands restaurants will provide delicious food, so you can taste a whole bunch of them all at once.
Tasting Bardstown Road
You can find a little bit of everything on Restaurant Row, and you can taste a little bit of all of it at the Taste of the Highlands event. Bristol Bar & Grille, Eat-a-Pita, Jack Fry’s, Uptown Cafe and O’Shea’s Irish Pub are among the many restaurants contributing food. Cumberland Brews and Heine Brothers’ Coffee are among the businesses providing the drinks. There will also be a sampling of wine, and a bourbon experience presented by Maker’s Mark.
Tickets cost $50 per person, and everyone must be 21 or older. Your ticket to this event gives you access to all the food, drink and spirits. Go to the Highlands Community Campus from 5:30 to 8 pm to taste it all, and you can do your own tour of the Highlands while you’re in the area.
See the Highlands
In addition to amazing restaurants, the Highlands is famous for its slightly funky culture. Come here to browse in unique little shops, get a gander at some of the most cutting-edge fashion and stop in a coffee shop to hear poetry or a performance, or just to grab a cup of something you can hardly pronounce.
Stay in the Highlands to get a look at some amazing houses, too. Away from Bardstown Road, the Highlands becomes a quiet neighborhood full of families of all sizes. The homes are just as eclectic and interesting as the rest of the neighborhood, and styled in a range of architectural designs dating back through the years. Taste, see and hear the Highlands this February, and get an idea of what life here might be like.
