It is paved for cyclists but there are some unpaved nature trails for the more adventurous. In less than 30 minutes you can pack up the family and drive into the big city to spend the day, not having to worry about dealing with big city living day after day. With one short drive you can be at the front gates of Kentucky's Six Flags amusement park or watching the wildlife at the Louisville Zoological Garden. Anchorage's location puts it at just the right place to make a day trip out of some of Kentucky’s most family friendly locations.
Anchorage is a fantastic city that provides a very traditional atmosphere and prides itself on its historic past. Because it is still close enough to Louisville you never feel like you are out of the loop while still providing a nice, secluded atmosphere.
