Walkin' Down Christmas Tree Lane
It’s a winter wonderland down at Waterfront Park. If you’re going to get a tree and yuletide greenery, why not get it on Christmas Tree Lane? Be there any time from 9 am to 9 pm to pick out your tree and get other items for your home, like wreaths, garland and door charms.
There will be large selection of trees available, including White Pine, Frazier Fir, Scotch Pine, Douglass Fir, Balsam Fir and a whole selection of spruce trees from all over the east coast. Some trees even came from as far away as Nova Scotia, Canada. You’ll find Christmas Tree Lane along Witherspoon Street, between Preston and Floyd Street, in downtown Louisville. That’s right near the Great Lawn, one the city's favorite community gathering spots, and that's just a few blocks away from a great neighborhood to do your holiday shopping: Clifton.
Christmastime in Clifton
Walk a few blocks east of Waterfront Park to discover Clifton, one of the city’s great historic neighborhoods. You can see several different architectural periods in the homes in Clifton, from grand old Victorian homes to eye-catching Classical Revival styles to cozy, bungalow-style homes. This neighborhood has a little bit of everything, from chic condos to family homes to romantic nests built for two. Clifton is close to downtown Louisville, and it has its own culture just like the heart of the city. You can find art, eating and entertainment here that includes museums, parks and historic attractions. There are many small shops that you can't find anywhere else, famed restaurants that have become Louisville institutions, and community gathering places like the Clifton Center. There's always something happening here, or something to see here, or something here you haven't tasted yet. Go see Clifton in all its holiday season glory after you stroll around the Christmas trees, and you'll see why this is such a popular place to live.
