Watch Live Entertainment This August
Who says you have to get all dressed up to go to the theater? This August, have a night of casual live entertainment at one of Louisville's quirky, cool theaters that's got a Shakespearian theme and no fancy dress code, the Bard's Town.
An Evening at the Theater
This is a theater but it's a laid-back, casual pub as well. You can come here to enjoy live entertainment or to get a drink and a great meal. There are various events at the Bard's Town all month long every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Come here to watch improv comedy, listen to karaoke or see a great comedy show.
Because this is a theater dedicated to Shakespeare himself, the menu is chock-full of themed dishes and classic pub favorites. Try the Titus Nacho-Nicus, Parting is Such Tater Tot-O, Midsummer Night's Greens or a side item like the Merry Fries of Windsor!
The Bard's Town is on Bardstown Road, of course, at 1801 Bardstown Road. That's in the famous Highlands neighborhood, a community celebrated for its eccentric culture and hip, trendy vibe.
Find Out More About the Highlands
The Highlands is well-known and well-loved for having a little bit of everything. The restaurants here provide cuisine from around the world. You can come here to dress up and have a fancy evening out or wear your blue jeans and soak up a casual atmosphere. You can find an elegant wine bar to try, or a laid-back pub with lots of craft beer on tap. Come to hear poetry in a coffee shop or browse for the latest trendy fashion in a boutique. There are lots of locally owned and independent businesses in the Highlands that create a true shopper’s delight. This neighborhood is also full of little theaters and fun attractions.
But the Highlands is also a community where lots of people live. And like the rest of the neighborhood, the housing here is eccentric and highly varied. You can find amazing historic homes here that date to the late 1800s or you can find an ultra-modern design built in the last few years. The Highlands truly has it all and that goes for real estate, too. Highlands homes have multiple bedrooms and bathrooms and many of the homes here have amazing high-end features and luxury details like modern lighting fixtures, hardwood floors, fireplaces, custom cabinets and more.
